Steve Lonegan candidate for Senate stopped by the Historic Smithville Inn in Galloway Township NJ with his wife Lorraine to meet supporters on October 1, 2013. Candidate Lonegan brought plenty of support with an appearance by Texas Governor Rick Perry.
A crowd of more than 100 supporters applauded and cheered as Governor Perry and Candidate Lonegan addressed issues facing our country and the state of New Jersey.
The men expressed their frustration with the current climate of stale-mate in Washington. Both were very candid about why both parties should be negotiating to reach a positive solution to the current crisis for the American people.
Candidate Lonegan remarked that after many years of marriage, “I know how to negotiate”. The clever remark drew laughter from the crowd as he pressed on to say that we negotiate every-day in life. Why would anyone in Washington refuse to negotiate with the other side?
He expressed how happy he was to be expecting a grandchild soon. For this reason, he felt it was of monumental importance to run for Senate and preserve the American dream for future generations.
Both men were very gracious and answered questions, posed for photos and took the time to remember everyone’s name. They had a full schedule of campaign stops around the state but made sure that they met everyone at the first stop in Galloway.
Candidate Lonegan was excited to report that he is now within 6 points of his rival in the race to fill the late Senator Lautenberg’s seat.
Governor Perry appeared on CNBC’s Squawk Box in New York early in the day then flew down to Atlantic City International Airport to be with candidate Lonegan
The Smithville Inn, as always, put out a first rate brunch for the guests and provided an elegant back-drop for the event. All attending spoke very highly of Galloway and the Smithville Inn.
