Galloway’s Emergency Services Saves The Day and a Life

Members of Galloway’s Emergency Services were recognized at  the township’s council meeting on October 22, 2013 for saving the life of  67 year old Leo McLaughlin when he suffered severe heart trouble while dining at Gourmet Italian restaurant.  Using the a new “automated external defibrillator” donated by Deputy Mayor Tony Coppola and the Smithville Inn, Galloway’s Emergency Services were able to restart Mr. McLaughlin’s heart after it had stopped twice.

Mr. McLaughlin spoke at length during the township meeting about how thankful he was to the heroes that saved his life.  Mayor Don Purdy presented Patrick Neal, Casey Hunt, and Thomas Grentz of Galloway’s Emergency Services with well deserved awards for their actions in saving Mr. McLaughlin’s life.
