The Galloway Twp. Veterans Day event at the Municipal Complex on Jimmie Leeds Rd. was held on November 11th 2014. Each year the event draws a large crowd of Galloway residents honoring veterans. Ike Rucker of the Marine Corps League was master of ceremonies. Boy Scout Troop #77 led the crowd in the Pledge of Allegiance. Galloway Twp. Middle School students Athena Hall and Keara Cadavid presented the wreath. The very talented Absegami High School Choir led by Cheryl Breitzman, sang a few songs.
Dee Scerni was presented the awrd for outstanding citizen of the year and was also made Galloway’s official “Poet”. The ceremony was closed with “Taps” played by Joseph Ward.
Everyone attending was then treated to a free lunch in the Historical Room.
