Galloway Township Police Communications Operator Katie Lawrence received a 9-1-1 call from a resident of the Absecon Highlands section reporting her infant was not breathing. The caller began CPR while Lawrence remained on the phone with her. Communications Assistant Supervisor Ian Capp immediately dispatched Galloway Police and EMS and contacted Atlanticare Paramedics.
Ofc. Kevin Jorgensen arrived within 3 minutes and took over CPR assisted by Ofc. Alex Bennett, Ofc. Greg Gillespie and Lt. Rich Barber. Galloway EMT’s Ethan Upton and Shawn Woltmann arrived along with Atlanticare Paramedics Joe Lerner and Mike Smith. The infant regained a pulse and was transported to Atlanticare Regional Medical Center, City Campus. The infant is recovering.
