Assumption Regional Catholic school celebrated National Catholic Schools Week. The annual celebration of Catholic education in the United States, it starts the last Sunday in January and runs all week, January 31 – February 6. The theme for the National Catholic Schools Week is “Catholic Schools: Communities of Faith, Knowledge and Service.” Assumption Regional Catholic School observed the annual celebration week with Masses, open houses and other activities for students, families, parishioners and community members. One of the many events that occurred at Assumption Regional Catholic School was a pep rally on February 3rd. All of the students and teachers were dressed in blue and white. The gym filled with students, teachers, parents, grandparents and siblings all there to see the pep rally. The basketball teams put on a demonstration of their phenomenal skills, and then the teachers played games against the students. A real crowd pleaser was the final game of toss the beanbag which the students won sending the room in to a loud roar of cheer! Through these events, the school focuses on the value Catholic education provides to young people and its contributions to our church, our communities and our nation.
