The Absegami High School Emanon Players brought it’s own brand of Broadway magic to the performing arts center March 10th, 11th, and 12th in their spectacular performance of “Mary Poppins”. “Mary Poppins” directed by Absegami High School drama teacher, Chip Garrison, and choreographed by Katie Taylor, with set designs by Kathleen Moore, lighting design by Ernie Rockelman, sound design by Ed Johnson, flying special effects by Flying by Foy, Costume design by Ashely Winkler and musical direction by Galloway Township Middle School teacher Brian Conover. The shows performance was performed in front a packed house all three days.
Set in England in 1910, the show is based on the 1964 Disney musical, which was adapted from the “Mary Poppins” books by P.L. Travers. Bert, the chimney sweep, introduces the audience to the troubled Banks family, which includes children Jane and Michael, who have sent many nannies packing before Mary Poppins arrived on their doorstep. With common sense and a touch of magic, she disciplines the children and even teaches the grown-ups a life lesson or two. The show stars are Andrea Rapetti as Mary Poppins, Coby Alavez as Bert, Spencer Lyons as George Banks, Miranda Muniz as Winifred Banks, Mackenzie Hackney as Jane Banks and Adam Gerstel as Michael Banks. The cast featured Andrea Brandt, Jahi Brown, Sophie Cohen, Emily Deibert, Michelle Delemarre, Claire Dell-Priscoli, Brianna Gargione, Stephen Gargione, Sarah Gillis, Josh Hassel, Rebecca Hennessy, Courtney Jones, Johnny Keen, Kathleen Koschorreck, Victoria Kreutzer, John Lopez, Bart Machula, Rick Mangold, Andrew Ngo, Dakota Palumbo, Lexi Patterson, Billy Platt, Mara Platt, Jacklyn Polisano, Makael Rogers, Breana Smail, Chloe Verderber, Victoria Williams and Bryan Wright. A job well done.
