This year’s Veteran’s Day celebration in Galloway at the municipal complex drew a standing room crowd. Many Galloway residents crowded into the township’s meeting room to show support and pay respect to our many veterans. The Absegami Choir sang beautifully and was led by Cheryl Breitzman. It was great to have Galloway’s young people salute our veterans in that way.
Ike Rucker, Marine Corps veteran, was master of ceremony. Herb Davis, head of Galloway’s “Veteran Advisory Board”, organized the event with the help of other board members. Jim Craine sang the National Anthem and a song written by Ike Rucker entitled “In All of My Colorful Majesty”.
Boy Scout Troop #77 led the Pledge of Allegiance. A wreath was presented by Galloway Township Middle School Student Council representatives, Raynah Katzen and Maxine Livingston.
Guest speaker Major Benjamin Robbins talked about New Jersey’s hero veterans. Prayers were led by Reverend’s Nicholas Dudo and Dean Bult. Taps was preformed by Joseph Ward.
